High-biodiversity REDD+ map for Viet Nam
Hanoi 6 August 2011. Green Field has been awarded project “High-biodiversity REDD+ map for Viet Nam” by Netherlands Development Organization (SNV).
Using secondary data available in the public domain Green Field’s experts will produce a series of maps displaying REDD+ potential relationships with areas of high forest biodiversity, and the threats thereto, in Vietnam. The result of this study will be used as part of SNV presentation at COP17 side event, Durban, 2011.
Mid-term review (MTR) for the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development in Cambodia
Hanoi April 2011. Green Field has been awarded the contract to conduct the Mid-term review for the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development (LASED) in Cambodia. The Land Change Modeler from Clark Labs Gets Support from Google.org
As the authorized dealer for Clark Labs in South East Asia, Green Field is delighted to announce that Clark Labs has been awarded by Google foundation the contract to adapt their Land Change Modeler application to run on the Google Earth best cialis Engine interface in order to support the evaluation and monitoring of REDD (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) projects. The online Land Change Modeler aspect of the Google Earth Engine will include the functionality of the IDRISI GIS and Image Processing software as well as its extension to ArcGIS. The application will allow users to analyze and model deforestation and the amount of carbon involved. Ultimately, the hope is that REDD will drive down carbon emissions, help preserve biodiversity, enhance ecosystem services, and provide an economic incentive and economic benefits for indigenous populations to preserve forests.
The Google Earth Engine brings Google’s considerable resources and computing capacity to bear on issues that involve massive earth observation data sets. The idea is also for the Earth Engine to become a platform for algorithms and software for research-based applications related to sustainability.
Many agencies are currently using the Land Change Modeler for analysis of REDD and other issues. Clark Labs is actively working with Conservation International in order to incorporate the World Bank’s BioCarbon Fund (BioCF) methodological prescription medications framework.
Sustainable and Legal Timber Supply System in Vietnam

M&E for Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Natural Reserve Project
Hanoi 23 Nov. 2009. GreenField has been awarded the contract to implement the M&E for Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong Natural Reserve project in Hoa Binh Province. After doing this approach, it’s necessary to provide technical support and advice to the process from outside in order to implement, monitor, and evaluate correctly. - Evaluate the VDP’s process done during the Year 2 of the project
- Deliver an evaluation of the implementation of VDP’s of the first sixth month of the VDP’s (since April 2009 to September 2009) and a list of recommendation activities/sectors in two temporal scales: for six coming months and for the next generation of VDPs’. The evaluation must include real impacts (if any) on the livelihood of the local people and useful methods (and objective indicators) to measure these impacts. Also, the evaluation must include the effectiveness, efficiency, impact, visibility and pertinent of the process done by the project in the Nature Reserve, in global terms.
- Provide to the project an effective and efficient mechanism to implement and monitor the VDP’s and to provide punctual advices during the process.
IUCN Workshop: IDENTIFIES ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES AS VIETNAM SEEKS TO MEET GROWING INTERNATIONAL DEMAND FOR LEGAL WOOD PRODUCTS

Workshop: Sustainable Public Procurement Preparedness Assessment
GreenField and IISD have launched the final workshop to present the result of the study “Sustainable Public Procurement Preparedness Assessment - Case study in timber industry in Vietnam”
The study has included a preliminary assessment of Vietnams’ SPP preparedness as well as formal interviews with government, private sector and international stakeholders.
In conducting this assessment, Vietnam joins the growing list of emerging economies, including China, India, South Africa, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, who are developing SPP policies to stimulate markets and national capacities on environmental goods and services.
The backdrop to this project is the memorandum on understanding between MARD and the Governments of The Netherlands, Switzerland and Finland on sustainable forestry and the Vietnam Trust Fund or Forests.
